Project Overview

This project was all about taking a tired, dated house and turning it into a bright, practical, and welcoming home. The layout was opened up, heavy brickwork replaced and everything from the front lounge to the outdoor deck has been thoughtfully reworked to better suit the way the owners live.

Front Lounge

The lounge now feels light, airy, and inviting. By removing the fireplace and archway, the space has opened up, and the heavy brick walls have been replaced with modern vertical boards for a clean, contemporary finish. Updated windows and shutters allow natural light to flood in.

Kitchen

A sleek new kitchen that balances form and function ensures this space is as practical as it is beautiful, creating a seamless connection with the adjoining living areas and laundry.

Laundry

The laundry was given a complete overhaul and now has ample storage, looks great and is ready for daily use.

Bathrooms & Ensuite

The bathrooms feature premium fixtures, modern tiling, and smart storage solutions, including recessed niches. 

Rear Living & Outdoor

The rear living area has been dramatically transformed. The heavy brick wall has gone and the room is fresh and inviting.  A new recessed TV space gives the room a streamlined, polished look. A feature sliding door now opens the space to the outdoors, creating seamless indoor-outdoor flow. Outside, the new hardwood deck and insulated awning provide an expansive entertaining area, perfect for relaxing with family or hosting guests. Together, the indoor and outdoor spaces now feel cohesive, modern, and filled with natural light.

The Result

This renovation has completely changed the way this home looks and feels. By updating every space and removing dated features, we’ve created a home that’s bright, open, and practical. It’s now a place the owners can enjoy for years to come, with thoughtful details that make day-to-day living easier.

“Undertaking a major home renovation is usually a stressful process. Thankfully we engaged early with Steve from B&S Nelson Building Services who provided sound advice and guidance. To be honest we had some ideas and concepts but little else. After a couple of meetings with Steve we had a broad project plan with cost estimates and then we refined the plan from there.
