Green Gables no more
Bruce and Ali called when they discovered our postcard that was delivered into their letterbox by our apprentice Cam. In our first meeting, we went through their wish list of what they were aiming for with their renovation.
Their house has the most amazing view over One Mile Beach Forster. The Green windows were major concerns for them. They were leaking, green in color, and rattled in the high winds. This was a priority and absolutely something they wanted to be changed.
Brad, Brent, and their team from Great Lakes Windows have installed commercial grade windows to the front of the house. They now have large uninterrupted views over the gorgeous Forster coastline.
We were able to reduce the amount of aluminum framing and improve the view. This also made it easier to clean while bringing the look of the house to something more modern.

The kitchen needed a facelift, it was also green like the windows, carpet, and floor tiles.
As Bruce is quite the chef he was after a modern kitchen that flowed and allowed him to cook up a feast.
They wanted to have seating that allowed them to sit, eat, and take in the panoramic view.
The large butler’s pantry enabled them to store the second fridge and bulky items we all have in our kitchens.

New floor coverings
They were sick of the green carpet and tiles. After leveling the floor we had Carpet 1 install a new timber look vinyl plank floor.
In my opinion, these floors are the best. They have great acoustic qualities while soft to walk on without shoes. If you happen to damage the one you can easily replace one.
Study Nook
The study nook is a sleek space providing a stand-up desk which was part of the brief. The USB charging points simplify the office space.
The strip lighting in the top shelf works perfectly and does away with the need for a lamp.

Bruce and Ali are repeat clients, those of you who follow our pages will remember some of the photos of the internal renovations we did last year.
This beautiful home overlooking the beautiful One Mile Beach in Forster had no cover over the deck. You couldn’t eat out there in summer and this was the only answer.
This time we were on the outside:

- New glass balustrade from Riverside Aluminium. Great job as usual Mark and the team
- Timber look privacy screens to the side of the patio
- New floor tiles thanks to Jack Frude Tiling.
- Smith Electrix installed numerous downlights into the roof

We have just completed a major renovation on our home with B & S Nelson Building Services and are thrilled with the final product!
In summary: very high quality work, completed early, on budget and stress free! The entire team of tradesmen who worked on our home (and there were many!) were professional, reliable, experienced, extremely skilled, friendly, and respectful of our wishes. Nothing was ever a problem, any issues we had were dealt with immediately and efficiently, and we were kept informed of the progress every step of the way. Steve Nelson was outstanding in his planning and management of the entire renovation timeline, and we are so very appreciative of all his efforts guiding us through this journey.
We have done several renovations before, and this was by far the least stressful – and the final product is even better than we had hoped for! We will absolutely be using B & S Nelson for any other building work that we need done in the future and would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone looking for a team to carry out any home renovations.
